Luxury Hotel Offer of the Week – Elbow Beach, Bermuda
Thursday, May 17, 2007Bermuda is often mistakenly referred to as a Caribbean country, but it actually sits firmly in the Atlantic Ocean, only an approximate 750 miles southeast of New York. Its more northern location makes it less than ideal for those looking for a warm-weather escape in the dead of winter – it can get quite chilly there. There are other caveats for families as well: taxi rides – along with pretty much everything else – are expensive, and rentals consist of scooters, which are fine with tweens and teens but not the best way to get around for those with young children. Still, if you’re looking for a family vacation in a spot not too far from the East Coast, Bermuda is a wonderful destination that’s easy to get to.
Part of the Mandarin Oriental luxury chain of hotels, Elbow Beach is offering a Family Package that includes:
- luxurious accommodations for a family of up to 4
- daily buffet breakfast
- one night of babysitting for up to 4 hours
- one hour kayak rental (includes 2 boats)
- one day admission to Bermuda’s aquarium & zoo
The hotel also has a Kids’ Club for youngsters between 5 and 12 (note: it’s only open between June 1 and September 3). Year-round amenities include a welcome kit for kids (let them know your child’s age before arrival) and special children’s meals at the hotel restaurants. The staff will also be happy to recommend activities and sightseeing for you and your brood.
This package requires a 4-night minimum stay and is available until December 31. Rates are based on a family of up to 4 with children 11 and under.
