I’ve heard fantastic things of this resort, being from the Columbia Gorge myself. Although it’s not in Eugene, which is south of Portland.
Summer is the time to visit “The Gorge” for sure, with all the people out and about. Visit Hood River to get a taste of mini-Aspen. It’s nicknamed “Windsurfing Capital of the World” and has many cute stores and coffee shops downtown. Take a trip to Mt. Hood via the Mt. Hood Railroad or drive up to Timberland Lodge while you’re there to see where The Shining was filmed.

Nicole: thanks for the info and correction – we must have had Eugene on the brain, for some reason. DUH. As for seeing where The Shining was filmed, that had to be one of the scariest movies ever so maybe I don’t WANT to see where it was filmed!

Right. That is a scary movie for sure. I had a hard time finding my comment and thought maybe it didn’t post but then I realized the comments link is at the end of the tags for the post. Still reading… Someday I would love to take a trip to one of the villas you list. Luxury for sure!
