We’re starting the week with the Hotel Palomar in Washington D.C. A Kimpton Hotel located close to both Georgetown and Dupont Circle, this boutique property is firmly ensconced in the contemporary art scene. The hotel has 335 guestrooms and suites with flat-screen TVs, complimentary WiFi access, and a fitness center. If you arrive in the evening, you may be in time to enjoy the complimentary evening wine reception – a perfect way to start your romantic getaway.

Here are two Hotel Palomar packages, one offering a little more planned activity outside of the hotel:
The Art of Celebrating Romance Package:
- a night in one of the hotel’s specialty Relaxation suites with Fuji soak tubs
- a bottle of Champagne
- a body paint set
- a “52 weeks of the Art of Romance” card deck
- a choice of private couples massage or a quick artist sketch, framed for you to take home
- complimentary breakfast served in bed or next door at Urbana
- free laundry service
Rates start at $169 a night for a Queen Deluxe room, but we advise going for the Specialty Motion room which starts at $244 a night: it’s almost twice as big (530 square feet vs. 285 for the Queen Deluxe), comes with a king bed and includes exercise equipment (we know you might not need it for this weekend) and a jetted tub for 2. Regardless of room choice you’ll find L’Occitane amenities, a gourmet honor bar, and flat screen TV with DVD player.
