New Luxury Hotel Brand in the Works
Wednesday, June 6, 2007Remington, a group that manages hotels for such big chains as Starwood and Marriott, is coming out with their own luxury chain called The Gallery, so named for the central theme of each resort: a gallery of photography from lifestyle photographer Greg Whitaker, whose work has appeared in publications such as Travel +Leisure and Cigar Aficionado. Remington plans properties for the US, Latin America and the Caribbean; each hotel will (of course) include a spa, fine dining and the other amenities that we’ve come to expect from luxury properties, and they promise “seamless service” coming from “docents”, which is their name for their personal concierges. There will also be opportunities for ownership, with owners enjoying additional perks such as personal wine cellars. As for the welcome factor for children? They’re promising on-site Kids Clubs, with pictures, of course, to commemorate family vacations and our children at their leisurely best. Sounds wonderful in theory – can’t wait to see it in practice.
