The open-air plan and luxurious yet comfortable furnishings of this luxury villa rental have us breathing sighs of contentment – and that’s just from the pictures. If you’re contemplating a family vacation in Mexico, consider Punta Mita. Nestled on the coast of the Bay of Banderas, Punta Mita is approximately 40 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, and is de riguer for those in the know who find Puerto Vallarta to be a bit done. You’ll find a Four Seasons resort in Punta Mita, and several luxury vacation villas and condos for rent, including the one we’re showcasing this week, Costa Banderas. The villa features open, airy dining and living rooms, but you may also choose to chill out on the stone terrace featuring an outdoor wet bar and overlooking the heated pool and jacuzzi. A set of cobblestone steps takes you to the villa’s private beach area where you can check out the bay (and possibly spy whales in the winter) from a palapa patio.
Back inside is a master bedroom described as stunning on the website, and from the pictures we’d have to agree. Of course you’ll find the usual king size bed, but the ooh factor comes from the private tropical garden it overlooks, and the indoor/outdoor shower with private sunning area. There’s also a bath (which we love since vacation is the only time we seem able to indulge in one).

There are 2 additional guest suites separated by a shared outdoor sitting area. The villa has 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and offers satellite TV, VCR and CD player for entertainment.

We haven’t dealt with them personally ourselves and therefore can’t endorse them outright; however, they are located in the US – Connecticut, to be exact – and claim over 12 years of experience in providing discerning clients with villa rentals in the PV area. When contacting them, be sure to ask what level of on-site service they provide – in the event of any problems, it’s better to have someone that can visit the property and address your concerns in person.
