Travel Gifts for Dad
Sunday, May 18, 2008Okay, we know – we didn’t post specific gifts for moms and Mother’s Day just rolled on by. (Happy Mother’s Day by the way…)
We were too busy being feted by our own offspring – presents included some delightful tropical flowers, courtesy of Dad, and an absolutely gorgeous and priceless handmade jewelry box made as only a 4-year old can.
Now it’s Dad’s turn, and we have to post something, because let’s face it, shopping for Dad is always a little harder. Most of what’s out there is so boring – no matter how glamorous the tie is, it’s another tie. So we tried to scope out gifts for traveling dudes, gifts with a little pizzazz…

These leather golf club covers from Pellavera give daddy some extra style on the course. Forzieri, $425

A travel martini set lets Daddy 007 prepare it shaken or stirred on the road. Horchow, $150

Surprise – guys actually like these Inspector Gadget-type devices. Of course, you won’t be getting on the plane with one, but it sure can come in handy when you need a bottle opener/nail clipper/thingamajiggy while traveling… Amazon, 29.99

Now Dad can actually be in the family vacation photos with this cool flexible tripod that can stand ramrod straight, wrap itself around a tree or railing, or grip a rock. Comes in 2 sizes. Red Envelope, $25-45

For the gourmand Dad, a travel book that explores the international cuisines of Paris’ most wonderful shops and restaurants. It also includes recipes for Dad to cook up at home. Amen Wardy, $45
