Luxury Romantic Getaway - Discovering Frida Kahlo in Queretaro
Friday, November 16th, 2007Beginning January 11, the Queretaro Art Museum will host the exhibit Heart of Frida, a collection of over 3 dozen letters and drawings by Frida Kahlo. The letters, mostly written to herself, are from the later years of the artist’s life and focus on many aspects of her controversial life, from her turbulent marriage to fellow artist Diego Rivera to the constant physical pain that inspired much of her work. If you’re not fluent in Spanish, you’ll be glad to note that the letters have been translated into English and those transcripts appear alongside the originals. The collection, which debuted in San Miguel de Allende at the Casa Maxwell Gallery, will be on display Tuesdays through Sundays, from January 11 to February 24.
