    The Warmest Stroller Blanket Ever

    Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Okay, so maybe how to bundle up the kids for the cold isn’t exactly top of mind right now. But we just came across this super-warm stroller blanket and thought, gee, this is perfect for cold-weather and we have to share. If you love going out in the cold but are fearful for your little one’s ability to hang tough, this oughta do the trick.

We found this blizzard-fierce stroller blanket over at Delight. The ergonomic hood (no, we’re not sure what that is either) keeps Junior toasty, as does the thermal fill and the waterproof outer shell. Thanks to zippers, you can widen and lengthen it to fit any carseat, stroller, or child from infancy to pre-K. The pricetag might remind you of cashmere, but for this level of comfort - not to mention the potential lifespan of the blanket thanks to the expansion factor - maybe you’ll be able to justify shelling out that much to keep your precious cargo warm for winter travels near and far.

Orange You Ready For Un-Diaper Bags?

    Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

You know how much we hate the traditional diaper bag. Even the more modern dots and Asian brocades have begun to signify “baby.”

Which is why we prefer what we call the undiaper bag, pretty much any bag that is roomy enough to use as a diaper bag, but has not been designed as one. For traveling, undiaper bags are excellent, as they can be used for shopping, carry-ons, or while sightseeing. These are bags that don’t so much say “I am a modern trendy mom” as much as they say, “This is my damn bag and I happen to have my kid’s stuff in here.”

Peek at some we’ve scouted out that fit the bill, all sporting varying hues of orange, a hot color making a comeback (for the brave, it never left.) No, they may not have spill-proof linings or sport changing pads, but you can always add a stand-alone pad and keep zip-loc bags handy. When kiddo starts carrying his own juice-box, you won’t be left holding the (look-at-me! I-have-a-baby!) bag. (more…)

Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful: Carseat & Carrier Covers

    Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Cold wet weather and babies aren’t usually a good mix, hence so many beach vacations for families with tiny tots. But your vacations needn’t be confined to warm or mild weather: in addition to the usual stroller covers, we’re seeing more and more options for carseat covers and carrier covers that keep baby warm - and close - as you brave the elements. These are great to have along when you’re traveling and want or need to be free from the stroller. Keep your options open by having a cover of every kind on hand so that you can be out and about no matter the forecast.

    Sasha’s Infant Car Seat Shield

Sasha’s Infant Car Seat Rain & Weather Shield: The clear cover of this PVC weather shield keeps baby safe from precipitation and wind in milder weather, but allows him to sightsee too. The ventilated cover also absorbs up to 67% of UV rays, according to the manufacturer. $32.99 at elitecarseats.com.
