Luxury Babymoon - White Cedar Inn, Freeport, Maine
Tuesday, May 8th, 2007While this package isn’t brimming over with amenities, the luxury of this babymoon is a different setting: a bed and breakfast in the coastal village of Maine, where you can really unwind and take a deep breath. Outlet shopping is minutes away if you want to stock up on more items for baby (and yourself, let’s admit it), but there are more relaxing things to do than shop. Tour the lighthouses up and down the coast, go on a historic walking tour of Freeport or attend the wine and cheese tastings that happen every 3rd Friday of the month at Freeport Cheese and Wine. And if all of that is too much, just relax, which is why you’re here.
As for the inn itself, it’s a typical bed and breakfast - not overly luxurious, but comfortable and homey enough to make you feel at ease. Some of the rooms have fireplaces, and an unusual luxury (or curse, depending on how you look at it) is the WiFi available in all rooms and throughout the inn. Despite that technological advance, only one of the inn’s guestrooms has a television, so now’s a good time to catch up on your reading.
The babymoon package is for 2 nights and includes:
- a $50 dinner gift card for Jameson Tavern
- a year’s subscription to a family or parenting magazine (you can choose from several upon arrival at the inn)
- a treat of 4 mini-chocolates from Wilbur’s of Maine
- a full breakfast - key when you’re pregnant!
Special touches: The inn will happily make restaurant reservations and print boarding passes for you. We also like that this babymoon package is available to adopting parents who’ve learned their adoption is going through - a thoughtful touch for an often-overlooked group who need the downtime too.
