Wednesday’s Web Roundup
Wednesday, July 4th, 2007Happy July 4th! Hope the day is filled with fireworks and fun.
- Over at Luxist we learned about a new property from the Intercontinental Hotel Group: Crowne Plaza’s The Place to Meet Island. Did we mention it’s in Second Life? Meaning you can be sitting at home with the kids – and still not be with them, if you so choose. Read more about it here…
- According to MSNBC, Amtrak is hooking up with GrandLuxe Rail Journeys to offer luxury train rides a la the Orient Express. GrandLuxe, which actually was formerly American Orient Express, will attach seven of its specially accoutred trains to Amtrak trains on select routes: those cars will feature luxury appointments and services including mahogany interiors and personal butler service. This may be a great way for older children to get a sense of enjoying the journey as well as the destination; read more about it here.
- You know all those luxury villas we post about? Most of them have fabulous kitchens. And while at the majority of them you can get a cook for an additional fee, cooking on vacation is not always the chore it seems at home. If you’re looking to wow the fam with some new recipes on vacation, check out Paul’s new feature on A Luxury Travel Blog – the recipe of the week.
- Looking for that ultra-luxe luggage that still maintains a discreet sense of style? BornRich showed us these limited-edition pieces from Globetrotter, the company that’s held the clothes of famous Brits such as the Queen of England and Winston Churchill. If you are even remotely interested, act fast – when they say limited-edition, they really really mean it.
- For your little princess supa star, Roxy has supa star rolling luggage, which we learned about over at Dluxes. We can’t vouch for the durability – but hey, there are lots of stars on it. And it’s very pink. Isn’t that enough?
